4.1 Accept Donations to the Coronado Unified School District The Governing Board may accept any gift, grant, or bequest of money, property, or service to the district from any individual, organization, foundation, or public or private agency that supports the district's educational program 4.2 Approve the Board Meeting Minutes of January 4, 14, and 19, 2023 Minutes must be taken of all actions taken by the governing board and every official board action be affirmed by a formal vote of the board and recorded . (Education Code 35145, 35163) 4.3 Approve the Personnel Register 4.4 Approve/Ratify Contracts for Services California Education Code, Public Contract Code, Board Policies and Administrative Regulations govern the procurement of goods and services for local education agencies. These contracts for goods and services conform with relevant laws and regulations, are consistent with industry best practices and are necessary to meet the needs of students and staff to support teaching and learning. 4.5 Approve/Ratify Purchase Orders and Warrants These purchase orders and warrants conform with California Education Code, Public Contract Code, Board Policies and Administrative Regulations which govern the procurement of goods and services for local education agencies. 4.6 Authorize Disposal of Surplus Property & Equipment The disposal and surplus of property and equipment is governed by California Education Code, Board Policies and Administrative regulations. The timely surplus of outdated and unusable property and equipment is integral to ensuring safe and conducive teaching and learning environments. 4.7 Approve 2022 School Accountability Report Cards (SARCs) A School Accountability Report Card (SARC) is required by the California Department of Education to be published by February 1st, of each year for the most recently completed school year for each school in the district. The profile provides information about the school and its students including demographic data, school safety information, academic achievement data, school completion rates, class sizes, teacher and staff information, curriculum and instruction information, postsecondary preparation information, and fiscal and expenditure data. SARCs need to be board approved, submitted to the state, and posted to the school/district websites annually. 4.8 Approve/Ratify Out of State Conference Board Policy 3350 requires that out-of-state travel be approved. Board Policy further establishes that the Governing Board shall authorize payment for actual and necessary expenses, incurred by any employee performing authorized services for the district. 4.9 Approve Comprehensive Safety Plans for Village and Silver Strand Elementary Schools, Coronado Middle School, and Coronado High School California Education Code (32280) requires an annual review and update of the district’s Comprehensive School Safety Plan by March 1st. Each year this plan is reviewed by the individual sites, district safety committee, law enforcement and fire agency before being approved by the District Office. 4.10 Present the Coronado Unified School District's (CUSD) Initial Proposals for Negotiations to the Association of Coronado Teachers (ACT) for collective bargaining agreement reopeners for 2023-2024
