CONSOLIDATED MOTION FOR CONSENT CALENDAR (5 min.) 4.1 Accept Donations to the Coronado Unified School District The Governing Board may accept any gift, grant, or bequest of money, property, or service to the district from any individual, organization, foundation, or public or private agency that supports the district's educational program 4.2 Approve the Board Meeting Minutes of September 6 and 14, 2023 Minutes must be taken of all actions taken by the governing board and every official board action be affirmed by a formal vote of the board and recorded . (Education Code 35145, 35163) 4.3 Approve the Personnel Register The following candidates possess the appropriate certification and qualifications to meet the needs of students, to add value to CUSD, and to support the district’s vision, mission and goals. Each candidate has gone through a rigorous HR selection process as per BP 4111 and meets the requirements to be hired. 4.4 Approve/Ratify Purchase Orders and Warrants These purchase orders and warrants conform with California Education Code, Public Contract Code, Board Policies and Administrative Regulations which govern the procurement of goods and services for local education agencies. 4.5 Approve/Ratify Contracts for Services California Education Code, Public Contract Code, Board Policies and Administrative Regulations govern the procurement of goods and services for local education agencies. These contracts for goods and services conform with relevant laws and regulations, are consistent with industry best practices and are necessary to meet the needs of students and staff to support teaching and learning. 4.6 Authorize Disposal of Surplus Property & Equipment The disposal and surplus of property and equipment is governed by California Education Code, Board Policies and Administrative regulations. The timely surplus of outdated and unusable property and equipment is integral to ensuring safe and conducive teaching and learning environments. 4.7 Accept Uniform Complaint Quarterly Report The Williams Settlement requires school districts to submit quarterly reports to the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) on complaints each district has received related to instructional materials, emergency facilities issues, and teacher vacancies and misassignments. 4.8 Approve/Ratify Out of State Conference Board Policy 3350 requires that out-of-state travel be approved. Board Policy further establishes that the Governing Board shall authorize payment for actual and necessary expenses, incurred by any employee performing authorized services for the district.
Learning Department Report: Senior Director Dr. Megan Battle (10 min. + Board Discussion) This report will review the most recent state and local academic assessment results and will provide an overview of the system-wide actions being taken in response to the recent outcomes and plans to monitor progress towards grade level mastery of the state standards.
