A GREAT NUMBER OF HIGH SCHOOLERS JUST CAME BACK YESTERDAY AFTER VISITING THE MIDDLE SCHOOL, GIVING THEM KIND OF A RUNDOWN ON HOW HIGH SCHOOL IS GOING TO BE LIKE.
ANSWERED A BUNCH OF BURNING QUESTIONS THAT THE MIDDLE SCHOOLERS HAD.
THE DANCE THEME IS GOING TO BE A NIGHT IN PARIS.
AND THE 8TH GRADE SEAWORLD FIELD TRIP HAPPENED A COUPLE DAYS AGO.
I HEARD SOME REALLY GOOD THINGS ABOUT IT.
AND OVER AT CORONADO HIGH SCHOOL, JUST...
SALUTATORIAN AND VALEDICTORIAN WERE ANNOUNCED.
WE ACTUALLY HAVE MULTIPLE VALEDICTORIANS THIS YEAR.
DANNY VEINGRAD AND DARA YOST ARE OUR VALEDICTORIANS, AND OUR SALUTATORIAN IS MORGAN MASK.
MORGAN MASK AND I ALSO HAPPENED TO RECEIVE AN OPTIMIST AWARD TODAY, WHICH WAS REALLY NICE.
I'M VERY APPRECIATIVE TOWARDS THE OPTIMIST CLUB FOR ALWAYS SUPPORTING OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT, REALLY HONORING OUR STUDENTS.
FOR THE AMAZING WORK THAT THEY DO AT ALL LEVELS.
COSTA DANCE AND DIGIARTS ALSO HAD SOME EVENTS.
GIRLS LACROSSE WON CIF TWICE FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A ROW.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER WINNING CIF, THEY CAME OVER TO PROM, AND WE WERE ALL REALLY, REALLY HAPPY TO SEE THEM.
SO MANY THINGS GOING ON, INCLUDING THE CULTURAL FAIR.
SENIOR ATHLETE COMMENDATIONS WERE LAST WEDNESDAY.
VERY EXCITING TIME FOR ALL THE HIGH SCHOOLERS.
WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A VERY SAFE AND FUN TIME.

YOU GUYS HAVE REALLY BEEN INSTRUMENTAL IN CREATING A SAFE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AND A A LEARNING ENVIRONMENT WHERE PEOPLE ARE REALLY FOCUSED.

WE'VE TAKEN FOUR TRIPS TO THE STATE CAPITOL AND PUT THROUGH MEANINGFUL LEGISLATION IN THE STATE ASSEMBLY AND IN THE STATE SENATE.
WE'VE GOTTEN TWO RECOGNITIONS FROM THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS NAMING DECEMBER 9TH TO BE CHS STOPPED THE SEWAGE DEBT.
AND NOW WE ARE THREE YEARS IN A ROW AS CUSD CLUB OF THE YEAR.

THIS IS A HEAVY LIFT ON TOP OF ALL THE OTHER THINGS THAT THEY'RE DOING OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR.

WE HAD A PROPORTIONAL AMOUNT OF RESPONSES TO THE QUESTIONS, BUT BOTH OF THEM CAME OUT SO GLOWING.
THEY WERE COMMENTING ABOUT HOW MS. MOLINA MAKES SUCH AN INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT AT THE HIGH SCHOOL.
AND I JUST SIT THERE AND I'M LIKE, I CAN'T SAY ANYTHING BAD.
BUT I CAN USE CORONADO AS AN EXAMPLE FOR OTHER DISTRICTS.

SO, AS YOU'RE AWARE, THE REDUCED WORKLOAD PROGRAM, OFTEN REFERRED TO AS WILLIE BROWN, WAS ENACTED LIKE IN 1982 UNDER CALIFORNIA LAW, BUT IT WAS ADDED TO THE CORONADO UNIFIED DISTRICT'S COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH ACT.
THE PROGRAM PROVIDES FOR TEACHERS TO REDUCE THEIR WORKLOAD WHILE PRESERVING KEY RETIREMENT BENEFITS.
THEY HAVE TO WORK AT LEAST 50% OF THE SCHOOL YEAR BUT THEY RECEIVE FULL RETIREMENT SERVICE CREDIT, FULL HEALTH AND WELFARE BENEFITS, AND FULL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THEIR PENSIONS AS IF THEY WERE WORKING FULL-TIME.
SO THE CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION IS MUST BE 55 YEARS OR OLDER, HAVE BEEN FULL-TIME FOR THE FOR THE FIVE CONSECUTIVE YEARS IMMEDIATELY PRIOR, HAVE 10 YEARS OF SERVICE WITH IT'S CUSD, AND THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE CONSECUTIVE.
AND THEN THEY SIGN A WRITTEN AGREEMENT WITH THE DISTRICT.
AND THEY CAN PARTICIPATE FOR UP TO 10 YEARS.
SO WE DO HAVE STRUCTURES IN PLACE FOR HOW THEY CAN TAKE IT.
SO THE ELEMENTARY STRUCTURE IS A 3-2 STRUCTURE.
SO THEY WORK MONDAY, TUESDAY, ALTERNATE WEDNESDAYS, AND THE OTHER PERSON WORKS THURSDAY, FRIDAY.
AND FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL, THEY CAN WORK EITHER A SEMESTER OR A TERM, OR THEY CAN WORK A REDUCED WORKLOAD.
SO WE HAVE TWO PEOPLE WHO WANT TO TAKE IT FOR THE 26-27 SCHOOL YEAR.

WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING STUDENTS AT PROMOTIONS AND GRADUATIONS, ATHLETIC AWARD CEREMONIES.
I WANT TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO SUPPORT THE LUAU AT SILVER STRAND THIS COMING FRIDAY.
IT'S BEEN A WONDERFUL, EVENTFUL YEAR, AND HANG ON TIGHT BECAUSE WE STILL HAVE A FEW MORE WEEKS TO GO BEFORE THE END.
I MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE A SON WHO'S MAYBE A LITTLE BIT BEHIND ON AN ASSIGNMENT, SO THIS IS THE TIME.

SO WE TALKED A LOT ABOUT THAT AND THEN GOT TO WALK AROUND CAMPUS AND SEE SOME DRONES BEING FLOWN.
I ATTENDED THE FREAKY FRIDAY SHOW A COUPLE OF TIMES.
I ATTENDED THE HIGH SCHOOL PTO MEETING RECENTLY.
THAT WAS GREAT INFORMATION, OF COURSE, TO OUR HIGH SCHOOL PARENTS.
AND IT'S GREAT TO HAVE UM, SEE ALL THE PARENTS THAT ARE STEPPING UP FOR THE BOARD NEXT YEAR BECAUSE THIS IS THE SEASON.
I WENT TO THE ART AND WINE FESTIVAL, FABULOUS TIME AS ALWAYS.
CSF DID AN AMAZING JOB AND I DON'T KNOW EVERY YEAR THEY SEEM TO MAKE IT BETTER.
I ATTENDED THE CMS SPRING FAIR VERY BRIEFLY.
YOU KNOW SAME THING GREAT TO SEE THE KIDS AROUND THE BAND PLAYING AND JUST THAT'S KIND OF ONE OF THE FEW TIMES THAT PARENTS CAN ACTUALLY GO ON CAMPUS AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL LIKE IT'S PRETTY LOCKED DOWN ON.
I KNOW PARENTS ALWAYS ENJOY THAT OPPORTUNITY TO GO IN THERE.
I THEN SWUNG BY THE COSA JIG ARTS EVENT, AND SO THAT WAS THEIR BIG END OF YEAR WITH ANIMATION AND VISUAL ARTS AND GRAPHIC DESIGN, AND THEY ALWAYS DO A GREAT JOB.
MS. WORMAN HAS, LIKE, THE BEST PURSE EVER.
IT'S LIKE A BEDAZZLED, LIKE, POPCORN PURSE.
IT'S PERFECT FOR MOVIE NIGHT THERE.
AND THEN ATTENDED THE FACULTY ACCOMMODATION AWARDS.
WHICH IS JUST A NEAT LITTLE TWIST ON ALL THE OTHER AWARDS BECAUSE TEACHERS GIVE IT FOR WHATEVER VARIOUS REASONS.
IT'S NOT NECESSARILY BECAUSE YOU'RE AT THE HIGHEST GRADE OR BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, BUT JUST SOMETHING RANDOM THAT THEY CONNECTED WITH THE STUDENT WITH.
AND SO IT'S NICE TO HEAR ALL THE REASONS WHY STUDENTS RECEIVE THIS AWARD.
AND THEN LASTLY, I ATTENDED A BUNCH OF SAFE HARBOR EVENTS.
MAY IS MENTAL WELLNESS AWARENESS MONTH.
WE ARE PARTNERS WITH SAFE HARBOR.
I PLAYED IN THE DOUBLE SERVE TENNIS TOURNAMENT, LOST THE SEMIFINALS, STILL BETTER.
I WENT TO THEIR CHILI, FIRST EVER CHILI COOK-OFF, THAT WAS GREAT.
THE CHILIS WERE ALL FABULOUS AND I DEFINITELY ATE MY MONEY'S WORTH.

TO BE JUST GONNA BE A SPRINT TO THE END SO THANK YOU.OKAY I TOO WILL ATTEMPT TO MAKE THIS BRIEF SINCE OUR LAST BOARD MEETING ATTENDED THE WORLD LANGUAGE CELEBRATION AND IT HAS BEEN REALLY AN INSPIRATION TO SEE HOW MANY OF OUR STUDENTS CONTINUE OUR WORLD LANGUAGE PROGRAMS ARE EXPANDING WE HAVE MORE STUDENTS GRADUATING WITH THE STATE SEAL OF BILITERACY.
WHICH IS ONE OF OUR PORTRAIT OF A GRADUATE GOALS.
A HIGHLIGHT FOR ME ANNUALLY IS THE BIZTOWN INTERVIEWS AT BOTH SILVER STRAND AND VILLAGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, WHERE I INTERVIEW SHARPLY DRESSED FIFTH GRADERS AND TALK TO THEM ABOUT THEIR FUTURE ASPIRATIONS.
I WAS ABLE TO ATTEND PLAYOFF GAMES IN CHS BASEBALL, SOFTBALL, VOLLEYBALL, AND LACROSSE.
I WAS ABLE TO ATTEND THE SENIOR SIGNING DAY, A NEW TRADITION AT CHS WHERE SENIORS RECEIVE A DONUT.
IF THEY GO AND SIGN A SHEET THAT IS ON DISPLAY AT THE HIGH SCHOOL OF WICHITA.
COLLEGE THEY HAVE COMMITTED TO ATTEND.
I WAS ABLE TO ATTEND THE EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION COUNTY TEACHER OF THE YEAR CELEBRATION WITH KATIE QUINLEY.
THAT WAS QUITE AN EVENING AND WE HAD A GREAT TIME.
THROUGH OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NATIONAL CONFLICT RESOLUTION CENTER, I ATTENDED THE PEACEMAKER AWARDS WITH MEMBERS OF OUR STAFF.
I WAS ABLE TO MEET WITH TINA FRIEND, OUR CITY MANAGER, AND THINK OF CREATIVE WAYS TO STRENGTHEN OUR PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE CITY OF OF COURSE.
I WANT TO THANK MS. SHADY, WHO FACILITATES THE INDUCTION COLLOQUIUM FOR NEW TEACHERS. AND WE HAVE A LOT OF TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS WHO PARTICIPATE IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH OF EDUCATORS.
